Terry Cox lived a life defined by service. Whether he was working behind the scenes at a rodeo, supporting his church, or helping keep his community safe, Terry gave freely of his time, energy, and resources. He never sought praise or recognition—he simply stepped in wherever he was needed. His straightforward kindness and unwavering commitment to others continue to inspire everyone who knew him.

The TXC Spirit of Service Award honors individuals who reflect Terry’s humble, generous approach to serving their communities. Recipients demonstrate a meaningful record of voluntary service—acts driven not by obligation, but by genuine care for others. Their contributions show generosity of time and effort, pride in their community, humility, and a clear positive impact on the people around them.

Nominees must be high school students ages 14–19 who are actively participating in the sport of rodeo at any level or through any organization. Award recipients are recognized each January during the TXC All‑Pro Invitational Match in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Applications must be submitted online using the link below and may be completed by the nominee or by someone nominating them. The awards committee strongly encourages supporting letters from individuals who can speak to the nominee’s character and service.
